Well how do you start describing everything leading to this
point. I don't want to bore you so I will keep it short and sweet. You can blame my mother for my interest in all things artistic
(thanks mum). She always had an artistic leaning and I suspect the gene definitley came from her. I used to sit and watch
her and then take the inspiration and make my early pieces and the rest was history, well not quite.
Following on, I like all kids discovered Saturday morning
cartoons. I tried to recreate the characters with my own adventures in strips, over the years my tastes matured and moved
from Disney, Hasbro and Hannah Barbara to DC and Marvel. throughout my schooling I studied art from GCSE to Diploma level
I always knew I loved art but I then knew Illustration was for me. And still that love for sequential art did not abaite
and it still hasn't. Through all the conventions, submissions, competitions and independent projects I have loved
every minute of it.
I do not think I will ever be able to give it up. it is my drug
of choice I'm afraid. I look to films and photography for infuences and reference points music and popular culture are
also invaluable sources for Ideas. Now a days I read comics less, for fear of being influenced by other styles. I am
the kind of guy that will unwittingly store clever ideas from inspirational artists; and realise elements manifesting
itself in my work and that is not a practice I like to entertain.
On this site you will see a cross section of my art.
everything from Comic to fantasy art to conceptual pieces I hope you get as much fun viewing as I have had creating.
Enjoy !!!
